We all love fruits and vegetables and we would love to have a garden full of them, but maybe we don’t have the greenest thumb or the most time in the world. What do we do?   1. Garlic

Garlic is one of the easiest edible plants. It grows faster than a lot of weeds do. Do you want to know how easy it is? Do you have a head of garlic at home? Take one of the many cloves and bury it, skin-on, in shallow ground with the pointy tip facing the sky. After a little bit of water, and a few days’ time you’ll see a green shoot appear. The underground clove will grow a new head of garlic that you can again use to grow even more garlic. It’s the gift that keeps on giving!

  1. Zucchini

Zucchini loves the heat, so once your temps are holding steady in the 70’s it’s time to plants those zukes! Zucchini likes to sprawl, so be sure to plant them at least 3 feet apart from one another. You’ll want to pick them when they are small are medium for the best taste and keep up on them because they grow to hilariously large sizes! Zucchini also grows prolifically. One joke is that if you live in a small town the only reason you might need to lock your car, especially at church, is because you could come out to a car full of zucchini.

Mint is another often over productive plant that can spread to unwanted areas. That being said, it’s not hard to grow, but you’ll want to confine it to a pot! Delicious air and recipes ahead.

  1. Tomatoes

Garden tomatoes are hands down the most delicious tomatoes in the world. Tomatoes don’t ask for much. They simply require regular water, stakes, and lots of sunlight. With the right conditions tomatoes are prolific and provide you with bursting fresh flavors.

Radishes come in a variety of flavors, and you can plant them completely based on preference. The nursery has a variety of seeds to match your preferences. There is the option of peppery or mild radishes to enhance your food. Radishes will grow for over a month from a few seeds. They don’t require a lot of room and can survive partial sun. Black radishes, watermelon radishes, Easter egg radishes… your choice.

  1. Cucumbers

    If you need a plant that isn’t too picky, you’ve met your match. Cucumbers only take about a month and half to grow after planted. If you choose to trellis your cucumbers, they will grow up and save space for other plants. Cucumbers love hot weather and will reward you will often more than you can consume, so get those pickle jars ready.

Strawberries that are homegrown aren’t going to be ginormous like the ones you will find at the store, but they will pack a serious flavor punch. Those tiny berries will be well worth the almost effortless growth.
