Watering Tips for the hot summer

With the rising temperatures you want to make sure that your plants are getting adequate amount of water.

A weekly inspection of your sprinkler and drip system is crucial for maintaining healthy plants. You want to make sure that nothing is plugged, and the timer is set for an appropriate amount of time for the type of plants that are being water by the valve.

A layer of mulch will also help keep moisture in your soil. Adding 2″ of organic matter or fine bark will act as a protectant against the sun. Without it, the roots of the plants are exposed and vulnerable to the sun.

Try watering early in the morning. This way water has a chance to absorb in before it evaporates.
